This really comes across rather pleasantly in the nose, along with a hoppy scent. My parents actually picked this up for me while visiting Blenheim Palace in Oxfordshire. It's got a hoppy/ caramel aroma, with a golden syrup flavour. It's really light and easy to drink. To be honest it's quite a simple brew but that's actually the beauty of it. Brewed with honey this has a fresh hoppy aroma and a bold flavour. Fresh, hoppy aroma, with a hint of spice. A light mango hoppy flavour and fresh hoppy aroma. It's a beer alright, but it almost seems like you're drinking a cider. I've never been a big fan of 'friutesse beers', but the sweetness of the mixed fruits combined with the bitterness of the beer works perfectly.Beer: West Berkshire Brewery - DR HEXTER’S HEALERGreat brew, has a really hoppy bitterness to it. A hint of chocolate in the flavour made this perfect to enjoy while chilling to some jazz!Beer: Gulden DraakOrigin: BelgiumA 10.5% ABV, this isn't for the faint hearted, but man what a brew! Sweet and light acidic taste, with a slight bitterness. This wheaty beer is definitely one of the best beers that I have ever tasted!Beer: Trappist AchelOrigin: BelgiumBrewed by monks in the Abbey of Saint Benedict (Belgium municipality of Achel). Sounds pretty epic, and man those monks really know how to brew! This is by far the strongest dark ale I have tried. With an abv of 8%, I was left slightly giddy on my feet but none the less, the smooth rich brew combined with an amazing, bitter after-taste was like a Sunday mass in my mouth! If you manage to get hold of one of these, it's an absolute treasure!Beer: AKTIEN LandbierOrigin: GermanyI stumbled across this in a 'bohemian style' restaurant and to be fair, I think it's quite a rare one for the UK. But without a doubt, this one's a hidden gem! Most dark ales are quite heavy on the stomach but AKTIEN Landbier was actually really light, not too bitter and the perfect compliment to my salmon!Beer: Goose Island Honker's AleOrigin: USALovely brew, rich hoppy with a sweet taste. Went perfectly with my chocolate brownie and my wife!Beer: Brew Dog Punk IPAOrigin: ScotlandYet another great beer from Brew Dog ... these guys always make a cracking brew! Nice and light, very hoppy not bitter at all. It's perfect for a light drink.Beer: Shock TopOrigin: USAAmericans are crazy about their craft beer, especially belgium wheats and this is by far the best one! They use orange, lemon and lime peels, mixed in with coriander. The flavours are really subtle but work so well together with the smooth taste of the Belgium wheat. You can add a slice of orange but it's so good you don't need to which really gives this the edge over similar beers.Beer: Batemans Springtime Oatmeal Biscuit BeerOrigin: UK (Lincolnshire)Sweet and actually tastes like oatmeal biscuits! This combined with the bitterness of the beer works amazingly well ... Next time you are thinking about dipping your oatmeal biscuits into your beer, just get one of these!Beer: Blue MoonOrigin: USAOnce again an amazing Belgium wheat and perfect with a slice of orange. It's also easy to get in the UK compared to simular beers that I came across while travelling in the U.S.Beer: Zero Degrees - Mango Wheat AleOrigin: UK (Various chains - this one was Reading)Lovely brew, sweet aroma and very sweet flavour. The wheat-meet-mango flavour is balanced perfectly with the bitterness.Beer: Shipyard IPAOrigin: USAThis brew is epic, a sweet citrus aroma and bitter citrus tang. I don't honestly know what exactly makes this brew so perfect ... it's just well balanced, smooth for an IPA and great with fish!Beer: Badger Golden ChampionOrigin: UK (Dorset)Hoppy aroma, sweet taste with a hint of bitterness. The caramel aroma and deep red colour add to the complexity of this pint. I will definitely be having one of these again!Beer: BrooklynOrigin: USAThis is a classic and is getting bigger every year! It's a deep amber beer, not a pale ale, nor a larger, but something amazing that's in between. Hoppy aroma, malty taste with definitely a 7.1% bitter ending! Bitter but this works perfectly with the sweetness.Beer: Samuel Adams Boston LagerOrigin: USAYou can't go with this one, it's a lager but with plenty of character. It is perfect for someone who doesn't like bold beers and it's great for a light drink.Beer: Innis & Gunn OriginalOrigin: Scotland (Edinburgh)Apparently this was found by accident and by far this was a lucky accident. This is prbably one of the most unique beers i have ever come across and with good reason. It's brewed in oak aged vats and this gives the brew it's unique oaky flavour with a hint of toffee and vanilla. If there ever was a good beer to have with pudding this is it ... Give it a go!Beer: Shipyard Monkey FistOrigin: USAI went an upmarket fish restaurant in LA and to be honest ... it wasn't all that (food-wise). But one thing that did make me smile was the beer. The range was unreal and they recommended that I had this one with my meal. It was incredibly hoppy with the greatest kick! Almost like an explosion of bitter fruit in my mouth. Vanilla, with hints of orange on the nose. It has a slight sweetness, that combines perfectly with it's bitter IPA feel.Beer: Green's Lager DryOrigin: UKThis is a really nice brew with a citrusy aroma, meets a light refreshing flavour. The flavours are balanced perfectly to provide a great beer for the lighter drinker.
