Pork Chops with Apple, Onions & Beer
I'm sure that you'll all agree that the person that invented the steak and ale pie was a genius and I've been keen to do this for a while.I'm not a chef, but that isn't going to stop me from running these installments based on cooking with beer. So here's the first one, it's pork chops with apple, onions and beer ... Can you guess what's in it?Ingredients1 onion (thickly sliced)2 apples (sliced, cored but with the skin still on ... Waste not)250ml of ale (I used an amber ale)2 tsp of brown sugar1 spring onion thinly slicedDirectionsThe best thing is it's so easy, place the apples, ale, brown sugar and spring onion into a casserole dish.Mix together.Place the chops in dish and make sure that all is covered but the brine (so it crisps up).Place on middle shelf of oven at 200 degrees or gas mark 6.Leave in for 1 hour.Take the lid off for an additional 15 mins to let the chops crisp up.Serve with mash and something green. :)
