Welsh Beer Week 2020
Welsh Beer Week will launch on 8th March 2020 to celebrate Wales' best brews! A collaborative of Welsh breweries, wholesalers and distributors will be running events both in pubs across Wales and beyond, encouraging people to #TryWelsh and #BuyWelsh.Breweries have soared in the region over the past years, producing some of the UK's best beer, and the event which has been organised by the Welsh Drinks Cluster’s Beer and Cider Group (a collective of independent Welsh brewers) aims to complement this.Earlier this month we went to visit Pam and Russ Honeyman at Monty’s Brewery in Montgomery, Powys who are participating in the event and have been helping make Welsh Beer Week happen. While we were there, Russ told us: “Welsh Beer Week is a fantastic opportunity to showcase the great range of beers produced in Wales that are out there. There’s a Welsh beer for every occasion and I’m really proud to have been part of getting it together!”It was great to see the sense of community that Monty’s offers the local area; working with many Welsh producers to make some unique beers. The couple also participated in the Welsh Government’s mission to Finland and Sweden to encourage export. You can check out our visit here!Welsh Beer Week will run until 14 March which coincides with the final matches of the Six Nations. Beer lovers who want to support the event just need to look out for pump clips and badges showing the official Welsh Beer Week logo.
