Bend Beer Chase, Oregon
The stars and planets have aligned in Central Oregon as the favorite hobbies of running and drinking amazing craft beer collided when the 4th Annual Bend Beer Chase took place June 3rd, 2017.[su_row][su_column size="1/2"]Runners from across the Pacific Northwest ran a one-day relay while sampling craft beer from 18 of the best craft breweries that Central Oregon is so well known. Teams of 3-6 runners completed the 3rd Annual Bend Beer Chase, which consisted of 12 legs, completing a 70-mile course from Bend to Redmond to Sisters and back to Bend. Along the relay course route, 12 of the 18 local craft breweries handed out samples and hosted games and prizes at almost every exchange point. Some stops had the popular corn-hole game or Frisbee golf, while Atlas Cider created an epic battle amongst teammates with the classic contest of bobbing for apples!After the timed 12-leg relay portion of the event, teams ran the last 2 miles together – dubbed the Keg Leg – which included 6 additional brewery stops within the town of Bend and finished on the lawn at Crux Fermentation Project. The Finish-line Brew Fest showcased beers from all sponsoring breweries, as well as live-music, food and games.[/su_column] [su_column size="1/2"][/su_column][/su_row] The Bend Beer Chase had a variety of contests throughout the event involving amazing and creative costumes, the best selfies with #bbcselfie, as well as the ever popular Bend Beard Chase contest. Prizes varied from race related swag to local experiences from sponsors and partners.
