Clocking Up The Bike Miles & Drinking Beer in Birmingham!
So we woke up to a lovely day and we had pre booked a table at the Brew House & Kitchen for dinner. There was only one thing to do get out on the bike. We carefully chose a route and set off from Stirchley via canal towpaths, parks and beauty that is the urban landscape of Birmingham.The first stretch was the Worcester & Birmingham Canal towards the town centre, a flat and beautiful ride. The perfect start to the day cycling past the still waters and reflections, it just takes you away from the city and makes you forget you are actually in Birmingham. [/su_column][/su_row]Only 5 miles in and we made our first pit stop, having worked up an appetite for brunch. The perfectly located Canalside Cafe served up a delicious Full English, washed down with a real beer. Perfect![su_row][su_column size="1/2"]

Sadlers Red IPA
A deep malty ruby red beer with hints of orange but still stays true to its hoppy style with citrus notes. A refreshing pitstop indeed.[/su_column][/su_row]Refuelled we continued onto the Birmingham & Fazeley Canal seeing parts of Birmingham waterways which were completely new to us. This is a nice gentle ride, great for a Sunday morning. The route passes through the canal paths of real industrial B'ham which lead to Aston reservoir sat beneath the Spaghetti Junction, a real landmark of the city. This is an amazing part of the route, urban landscape great to experience from the saddle of a bike.[su_row][su_column size="1/2"]

[/su_column][/su_row]With a cold beer in mind keeping us going we hit half way point with the beautiful views across Witton Lakes. Then a few roads on route before arriving at Sutton Park. A lovely place to take a short break and soak up the sun, followed by a bit of fun hitting a few dirt tracks, exactly what I live for. After a few hills and working up a sweat we headed for our destination, Brew House & Kitchen.[su_row][su_column size="1/2"]

[/su_column][/su_row]Well deserved cold beers, slowly cooked ribs and a pulled pork burger couldn't have gone down any better. This is great place to check out to get your fix of craft beers paired with amazing food. The bar and restaurant are set in the micro brewery itself so you can see where the magic happens, along with the beer related interiors which adds to the experience. They have their own beers, seasonals along with a wide range of craft heaven on offer. Wild Beer Co - Bibble
First to quench our thirst, this amber brew with a lovely long-lasting head. A perfect fruity aroma with hints of orange and nicely balanced with hoppy bitterness. Big Hug Brewing - Big Hibernation (White IPA)
To keep us content in-between main and desert this unfiltered brew, light golden in colour with a hoppy zesty aroma and hints of grapefruit. Well balanced @ 5.2% a pretty nifty abv.[/su_column][/su_row][su_row][su_column size="1/2"]

Haccht - Mystic Belgian Fruit
To end we chose to contrast the pallet with this fruit beer which completely complemented the chocolate sundae, a sweet fruity aroma with a peach bouquet. A nice sweet wittier to finish.[/su_column][/su_row][su_row][su_column size="1/2"]Heading home at golden hour completely satisfied and with a smile on our faces we looped back through Plants Brooke Nature Reserve and Pipe Hayes Park for a beautiful and direct route home.
